Mind your step! Mel B teeters precariously on ridiculously high stilt-like heels as she carefully totters into the X Factor auditions

She only stands an inch smaller than X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos in their stockinged feet.
But Mel B, clearly eager to make a good impression on Simon Cowell, made sure she had height on her side as she stepped in as guest judge today.
However, she only needed to boost herself by a couple of inches so maybe the ridiculously high heels were a mistake – especially as she struggled to walk by herself in them.
Looking good! Mel B arrives for her first guest stint as a judge on the X Factor in Manchester and looked sensational in a black and white dress that showed off her curvy but trim figure
Precarious: Mel sported ridiculously high heels
The former Spice Girl was snapped arriving for her first day as a stand-in judge on the TV talent show with her husband Stephen Belafonte.
She has lost an incredible amount of weight since giving birth to her third child nine months ago and becoming the face of weight-loss company Jenny Craig.
And she looked sensational in an
optical illusion black and white dress which tucked her in neatly at the
waist and showed off her taut and trim figure.
she very nearly came a cropper in her stupidly high heels that she
struggled to walk down the stairs and gripped in for dear life.
even had to rely on husband Stephen to keep her up as she posed for
pictures outside the Lowry Hotel where she is staying while the
auditions are taking place.
Her hair was tied back in a slick ponytail and she kept her accessories simple with a watch, bracelet and earrings.
I'm going to need that! Mel made a beeline for the handrail as she made her way down the stairs from her hotel
Steady! Mel had a bit of a wobble on her crazy heels at one point
But she may want to go for something a little lower – and possibly more sensible – in the heel for day two just to stop her risking breaking her neck.
The black and gold shoes looked like normal high heeled court shoes that had been customised with a chunky platform and an elongated heel.
Showing support – but not for long! Mel was left calling after her husband as he leapt away and pulled his shoulder from under her hand, leaving her to teeter on her heels alone
But she clearly just wanted to make a good impression on her fellow judges and the viewers.
Yesterday she arrived at her hotel and it would seem she wants to show off her new sexy shape as much as she can as her outfit was so tight that it could have been spray painted on.
The 37-year-old singer had opted for an extremely snug pair of light-coloured jeans with a low cut white vest.
Tight and bright: Mel B arrived at her hotel in Manchester in a pair of super tight jeans, a low cut vest and a bright red jacket
She covered up with a bright red bike jacket and had a Chanel handbag slung over her shoulder.
The singer also had her hair piled high on her head in a large bun.
Anyone with an inch to pinch would have looked much heavier in the taut look but thanks to Melanie's super toned shape she still managed to look
Hair raising: Mel had her tresses piled high on top of her head in a large bun
The mother-of-three is no stranger to acting as a judge on the Australian version of the X Factor but she is really happy to be performing the role on home turf.
Mel told The Sun: 'I’m so, so, so excited to be a guest judge in Manchester. Being a northern girl, I believe there’s lots of amazing talent in the north of England. I am coming to find the winner.
'I love my job as a judge on The X Factor Australia, but it will be great to sit on the panel in the UK. Britain is, and always will be, my home and first love.'
Pins on parade: Caroline Flack was also seen arriving at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester for the auditions
