It's their one shot to change their lives, an opportunity to soar to fame and live out their dreams.

But for some X Factor contestants the pressure of performing in front of the judges proves too much.

Jahmene Douglas suffered a break down on tonight's show and needed medical attention because he was so anxious about his performance.

After the judges were told the wannabe was with medics Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh decided to go back stage to give him a pep talk in an attempt to instil some confidence in him.

The former Pusscat Doll told him: 'I need you to remember why you’re here and why you love to sing. We
can’t wait to hear you, no matter what you do, all we can ask is that
you just sing your heart out, that’s all you can do.'

Before he took a funny turn Jahmene told viewers how he was feeling the pressure after a bad performance the day before.

He said: 'Today there’s a lot of pressure on me because yesterday I let myself down a lot, didn’t impress the judges at all. Can’t afford to let the same thing happen today. In this two minutes on stage you can either lose it or do your best, that’s it. One chance.'

And the nerves quickly took their toll when Jahmene told producers he was feeling dizzy and weak.

He said: 'I don’t feel I have enough to perform to my full potential today. Just feeling really dizzy, like I might pass out.'

A producer asked him: 'What do you think this is, do you think this is nerves or do you think you are really unwell.'

But after seeing medics and speaking to Nicole and Louis, Jahmene felt strong enough to head out on stage.

Louis asked him: 'Jahmene, how are you sir'

Jahmene replied: ' Not feeling too well but I’m going to sing this song.'

Despite his fears after singing Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow the crowd went wild.

Gary is the first judge to offer his review and said: 'Jahmene, for all the performers it’s a heavy, emotional ,stressful week, it really is and this is how it’s taken it’s toll on you. The good news is, you can sing, you really can. I think it’s time for us to let you go right now.'

Although the judges agree on his singing ability they question whether he has the strength of character to see out the show.

Nicole noted: ' We have a lot of stuff we need to work with him on and it’s not his voice. Everything else is holding him back.'

Tulisa added: 'He needs lots of support, lots of care, make him feel confident, because imagine the live shows
Gary: This show is tough love, it is. Because I tell you what, these contestants, they’re on Twitter, they’re being written about in the papers, it’s really hard. If this is what he’s like at this point I would worry.'

While the judges has their reservations over Jahmene they decided to give him a chance and put him through to the next round.
