He's had a relatively disappointing season on the pitch, and has only a short time to spare before training with England for the European Cup kicks off.
So perhaps it's understandable that Wayne Rooney is spending part of his well-deserved break trying to see if he can win a little luck elsewhere.
The 26-year-old was seen hitting the craps and roulette tables last night in Las Vegas, looking relaxed as he placed his bets.
Having a flutter: Wayne Rooney and Wes Brown enjoyed a came of roulette in Las Vegas last night
He was spotted enjoying a flutter on the $100 minimum roulette wheel, before reducing winding down on the $50 a game craps table.
It'll be nothing but work for Wayne once the European Cup starts in Poland on 8 June, so he must be savouring the opportunity to chill out without professional concerns.
He looked casual in a white top and brown trousers, and enjoyed a beer as he observed the games.
Mind elsewhere Wayne, who is enjoying a holiday before the European Cup, looked a little distracted
Coleen opted out of the casino trip, so Wayne was at his leisure to take his time, and was joined by Sunderland defender Wes Brown.
The football star hasn't even updated his Twitter feed since he's been away, with the last post on Sunday reading: 'Our fans were brilliant today. Thx for ur support all season. We have to look ahead to next season.'
After a disappointing season for Wayne after Manchester United failed to take home any silverware, he's probably been revelling in the opportunity to take his mind off things.
Placed his bet: The minimum spend on the craps table was $50, pocket change for Wayne
Accompanied by their friends and family, the couple looked like they were having their own party as they hung out by the pool at the Wynn Hotel.
As expected Coleen, 26, was topping up her year-round tan in a palm-tree print halterneck bikini.
Joining the couple are Coleen's parents Tony and Colette McLoughlin, Wayne's footballer brother John Rooney, who currently plays for Orlando City, and Coleen's best friend Amy Louise Wilkinson.
Taking his mind of the game: Wayne's attention was caught by a couple of other guests at the casino
Time to himself: Coleen, who spent the day sunning by the pool, chose not to join her husband
With the temperatures in the high 30s, the gang spent most of the time keeping cool in the water.
Coleen spent some of the day playing with Kai in the pool, before taking him back to their suite – with the most lavish suites currently costing between $600-$1,750 a night.
This current trip is the WAG's seventh holiday in the past year.
Swimming lesson: Coleen paddled about with Kai in the shallow water
Mummy's little monster: Kai appeared to be wearing a Loch Ness monster outfit
In February, Coleen and her parents took Kai to their 5million Barbados home for a week-long holiday.
And the previous month, she enjoyed a working holiday to Florida to shoot a modelling campaign for Littlewoods.
Last summer, it was a non-stop holiday for Coleen as she enjoyed breaks in Ibiza (August), Dubai and the French Riviera (July) and Barbados (June).
Quality time: Coleen looked thrilled to be cosying up to her husband Wayne during his rare time off from the beautiful game
