He may have been fired from Christian Dior, but it seems Anna Wintour still has time for John Galliano.
A patron at the Ritz Hotel's restaurant, L'Espadon, in Paris, documented a meeting between the Vogue editor-in-chief and ex-Dior designeron his Instagram account.
Albert Pang, who was visiting Paris from Singapore, told MailOnline that the 62-year-old editor rushed 'in hurried steps' to the waiting condemned designer just last week.
Public meeting: Anna Wintour, with daughter Bee Shaffer, was spotted at the Ritz in Paris having dinner with condemned designer John Galliano
Mr Pang said that the
designer, who was dismissed from Dior last year after he was found
guilty of an anti-Semitic tirade in a Paris bar, arrived alone.
Although he said he 'couldn't hear a thing' during their conversation, it
has been widely speculated that Mr Galliano will go on to head the
relaunch of Elsa Schiaparelli's namesake brand this September.
Detective documentation: A patron at the hotel's restaurant, L'Espadon, took photos of Mr Galliano before (pictured) and after he meet Ms Wintour, posting the images on his Instagram account
Ms Wintour co-chaired the recent Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibit at The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which explores the striking affinities between the two Italian designers, Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada.
Mr Pang added: [Mr Galliano] took a seat outdoor where I
was, and ordered a drink (not sure what drink, [I] couldn't see it
cause I was two tables away). The outdoor tables weren't filled, so
there wasn't much attention. But of course the waiters and other diners
noticed his presence'
Tennis match: Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, watched the men's singles final tennis match at Wimbledon on Sunday with partner John Shelby Bryan
He continued: 'Then after a few minutes he was seated, he saw
someone he knew from a table across and they said hi and exchanged a few
Disgraced designer: John Galliano was dismissed from Dior after he made anti-Semitic remarks at a Paris bar last year
'Then about 10 or 15 minutes later Anna
Wintour came (with the girl in red, is that her daughter I'm not sure)
and the two of them were very excited.
'If I remember correctly, they hugged.
But unfortunately I couldn't hear a thing. Then they moved indoors for
dinner – though I'm not sure who else were there to join them.'
It is unclear what the disgraced designer, who prior, had not been seen since Kate Moss' wedding last summer, and Ms Wintour were discussing, however their meeting alone speaks volumes about Mr Galliano's continued and intact support network within the fashion industry.
Shortly after Ms Wintour's visit to Paris for the fall 2012 couture shows, where she sat front-row for Raf Simons' Dior debut just hours prior to seeing Mr Galliano, the Vogue editor made her way to London for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
Yesterday she was seen watching the men's singles final tennis match between Roger Federer of Switzerland and Andy Murray of Britain, which she attended with partner John Shelby Bryan.
The editor, smiling and cheering while clad in Prada, watched from the Royal Box, socialised with, Miroslava Vavrinec, Mr Federer's wife.
