She was a favourite with the audience, winning support as the oldest contestant ever at this stage of the competition.

But for 65-year-old Rosemary Conley, the Dancing On Ice adventure was finally over tonight.

Rosemary was cheerful as she bade the competition farewell, and said: 'I have loved every second.'

Judge Louie Spence has said earlier in the show that he was keen to see Rosemary let go and 'rip it up', but wasn't convinced that had happened during her performance tonight.

Before the skate-off Rosemary said: 'I have absolutely loved it. But we have reached a point in this competitions where everyone is raising the game, and I'm not sure I can do that.'

Jane commented after their routine: 'That was another great performance, you should be proud of yourselves.'

Asked whether she had done enough to get through to next week's round, Rosemary said: 'No. Chemmy is brilliant, and she deserves to go through.'

Chemmy said after her own performance: I love Rosemary, and whatever happens, happens.'

Robin opened his critique after the skate-off saying: 'From a skating point of view, I'm surprised either of you are here. But I am going to save Chemmy.

Louie added: 'I agree with Robin- I am surprised you are both here. And what an inspiration it's been working with Rosemary, a true lady.'

'But I'm afraid I'm going to send Rosemary home as well.'

Katarina also chose to save Chemmy, meaning that Rosemary was voted off unanimously by the judges.

Chemmy skated to I'm Into You by J-Lo
with partner Sean Rice, and picked up a five from Louie, 6.5 from
Robbie, and a seven from Katerina for her first performance earlier in
the evening.

Louie commented afterwards: 'You need to become softer in your moves, include that light and shade and that sexiness in your dance.'

Robin added: 'The rehearsal was frantic and messy, but you are going in the right direction.'

Katrina quipped: 'I love your temperament, I love your speed, tonight
you looked like a Greek goddess. But if you have a date on Tuesday be a
little more gentle!'
