Robbie Williams wants 'X Factor' contestant Rylan Clark in his family life.
The Candy singer – whose Take That band mate Gary Barlow has expressed a dislike of Rylan – would love for the Essex hopeful to do well on the show so he could hang around with him on a regular basis by himself and with his wife Ayda and daughter Theodora.
In scenes where Robbie mentors Rylan, he says: 'I don't know what stick Gary's got up his behind, what have you done to upset him
Best buds: Pop legend Robbie Williams offered aspiring star Rylan Clark some advice during a masterclass ahead of The X Factor's live show this weekend
'I'm a big, big fan and I want you in
my family's life. In some way, shape or form, I wanna see you on the TV
an awful lot and bump into you backstage at places and say, 'Hey, how
are you doing' '
Robbie, 38, also taunted Gary, claiming he was backing Rylan – who is mentored by Nicole Scherzinger – to win the show.
He added: 'Gaz, I don't know what
this young man has done to offend you so much and I don't understand how
you are missing out on the obvious brilliance and talent of Rylan.
'But I am not – I am strictly Team Rylan all the way.'
Warm welcome: Robbie greets Rylan with a handshake after after tweeting his support for the hopeful on Saturday
Up and coming: Former Take That star Robbie also spent time offering his advice to the other finalists in the show including Jahmene Douglas and Kye Sones
Robbie looked smart as he dressed all
in black in a matching suit and t-shirt which he teamed with a
contrasting pair of white trainers.
Rylan rocked his own unique style by donning a pair of light blue jeans
with a white t-shirt featuring a bright red pair of lips on the front.
He completed the outfit by wearing a sky blue baseball cap on his head and a pair of silver boots.
Sharing a joke: Robbie is amused by entertainer Rylan during the London masterclass
Rylan is likely to have been excited
to meet Robbie after the star backed the hopeful on Saturday – a move
which may upset Robbie's former band member and The X Factor judge Gary
Barlow, who has been a harsh critic of Rylan.
to his Twitter page, Robbie wrote: '”TEAM RYLAN ALL THE WAY VOTE RYLAN”
Robbie's backing @rylanclark on @TheXFactor… who's got your vote'
The father of one then posted a blog post on his website where he backed up his thoughts with more supportive words for Rylan.
Turning the tables: Rylan gives Robbie a taste of what it's like to be a contestant on the show as he directs the camera at the pop star
Fine tuning: Robbie helps Ella Henderson and Jade Ellis perfect their vocal talents
Meeting pop royalty: James Arthur is also treated to a lesson with Robbie Williams
But the singer's stance appears to
have upset his ex bandmate Gary who confessed his irritation to host
Dermot O'Leary on Sunday night's result show, saying: '20 years of
knowing each other and it's all over in five letters.'
Robbie – who will be joined by former The X Factor winner Leona Lewis, and boy band Lawson when he switches on the Marmite Oxford Street Christmas Lights on Monday 5 November – hasn't been as complimentary about all the finalists on the
show – he is not convinced all of them will make it as successful pop
to Shortlist magazine, he said: 'Somebody will come on and do an
audition and sing their arse off, but they can’t project and they’re
boring and they’ll go nowhere.'
Battle of the bands: Robbie is an expert at performing in a band having been a member of Take That twice and he offered his help to District3 before the show this weekend
Last two standing: Union J are one of the last two remaining bands in the competition
Spicing up her life: The X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger enjoys a curry on a night out during a break from filming the show
