He hails from Essex which is recognised by some as the birthplace of fake tans and false eyelashes.
So it comes as no surprise that X Factor contestant Rylan Clark is not quite there on the fashion side of thing, despite what he might think.
Doing a round of promotion prior to the first live show on Saturday, the 23-year-old was pictured on Thursday alongside his team mates James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas outside the ITV studios.
Too much X Factor contestant Rylan Clark failed to make the fashion grade as he arrived at the ITV studios in London on Thursday morning
Rylan stepped out in a powder blue blazer with a white shirt, jeans and black shoes.
The singer, who put on an Oscar-worthy performance as he collapsed to the floor in a fit of emotion when he learned that he had made it through to the live shows, opted to slick his jet black hair back.
Bearing some resemble to cartoon character Dick Dastardly, the Essex boy's tan and dark clean cut facial hair and shaped eyebrows were in direct contrast with each other.

Sure to be one of the stand out acts this year, Clark has vowed to do what no other performer on The X Factor before him has ever done.

Factor that no previous contestant has ever done before.
'I want to be
the first dance artist to come out of this show, I just hope people pick
up the phones.'
