She's happily loved-up with new boyfriend Tom Kilbey but tonight fans of The Only Way Is Essex saw Lydia Bright reduced to tears due to her ex James 'Arg' Argent.

The blonde reality TV star attempted to have a civil conversation with Arg's current girlfriend Gemma Collins at Joey's birthday party, but as soon as Arg got involved it turned nasty.

Tonight's episode of the ITV2 show ended with Lydia crying her eyes out, but she wasn't the only one who was upset.

Viewers watched as Lauren Goodger also shed a few tears after a showdown with Lauren Pope regarding her kiss with Tom Pearce.

Pope had previously told good friend Chloe Sims that she wasn't bothered about the two getting together as she wasn't 'even that interested in him anyway,' but when Goodger decided to talk to her, things got heated.

'I'm cool with the Tom situation,' Pope told her, but then added: 'things have got awkward.'

'I look back and I think we were really close, and now things are like this,' Goodger replied. 'I don't want that.'

However, Pope then decided to bring up the fact that Chloe told her that Goodger had said nasty things about her in the past, and when Goodger denied it, she called Chloe over.

'I don't really want to get involved but you did say that a long time ago,' Chloe explained. 'But since then we've got really friendly so I have told her.'

Goodger continued to deny ever saying nasty things about Pope, which prompted her to say: 'You're saying it's awkward, but it's because you've said those things.'

'I've had enough s**t in my life, and I just came over to give u a heads up but it's fine,' Goodger said before storming off.

'Well it's not fine because now it's even more awkward,' Pope replied, before the camera cut to Goodger crying and asking Tom if they could leave the party.

The pair were earlier seen kissing one another as she agreed to let Tom take her out.

But there was more trouble with past and present relationships at the party when Lydia decided to have a chat with Gemma to try and clear the air.

The women were acting fine with one another until Arg came along and began stirring things.

'I've always said I would never have a problem with you two.,' Lydia told Gemma before Arg butted in.

'Last time me and you spoke to each other you told me I was scraping the barrel with Gemma,' he said as he began raising his voice.

'Last time you spoke to me in Marbella you were trying to hug me at the conveyer belt,' Lydia replied.

Gemma tried to calm the situation by saying: 'Sometimes people say things,' but Arg wouldn't let it go and continued stirring things.

'You said we're both suited because we're both fat and you also said we both need a special bed to be made.'

Lydia was fighting to have her say but Arg wouldn't let her and that's when she began to cry.

'You put people down, you're a cheat. Go away James,' she shouted as the tears streamed down her face.

'You're trying to tell her she can't wear make up, you're nasty,' she added, but when Arg stated he hadn't cheated on Gemma, Lydia asked: 'So why did you need to cheat on me'

'Because there was something missing,' was Arg's spiteful reply before pulling Gemma away and leaving Lydia on her own.

'I don't want Lydia to be upset James,' she said with a smirk on her face as he began questioning her on why she was even talking to Lydia in the first place.

Despite the drama at the Eighties-themed pool party, Joey was none the wiser and had a great time partying with his friends and girlfriend Sam Faiers – who revealed that she had bought him a trip to New York for his 22nd birthday.
