In an emotional scene on the latest instalment of 16 and Pregnant, an addict mother is seen apologising to her expectant teenage daughter.
The conversation arises when Billie, from Bronson, Texas, who has struggled with alcohol and drugs, is seen asking
daughter Myranda, 16, if she will be able to spend time with the baby
when it is born.
But Myranda expresses some reluctance, saying: 'I don't know – it just brings up past memories…'

Emotional scene: Last night's episode of 16 and Pregnant sees Billie (left), who has a history of alcohol and drug addiction, apologise to pregnant daughter Myranda, 16, (right) for giving her reason to have trust issues
This triggers an apology from Billie, who replies: 'I’m sorry that I ever put you in the position… that you had to make that kind of decision.'
Last night's episode of the hit MTV show charts a troubled journey for the pair.
When she learned she was pregnant, Myranda was already living with boyfriend-of-three-months Eric Kennemer and his family, because her own mother was in and out of rehab.
Though she makes an attempt to include
her mother in the pregnancy, Billie relapses and misses shopping trips
and doctors' appointments that Myranda had hoped she would be present
'I don’t give a rat's butt about my mom… I don't want my baby to be around someone like that'
Furious at being let down yet again, the pregnant teen is seen telling her friends: 'I don’t give a rat’s butt about my mom anymore… I don’t want my baby to be around someone like that.'
And when Myranda is told to name the two people who will be present in the delivery
room during the birth, she chooses her boyfriend and best friend instead of her mother.
The reality check inspires Billie to ender an intensive outpatient rehab programme, in preparation for her granddaughter's arrival.
Growing closer: Myranda says that she is working on her trust issues with her mother, who in turn is sticking to her rehab programme and staying sober in a bid that she can be a good grandmother to baby Kaylee
It seems the scars of the past run deep for Myranda though, as, even after baby Kaylee is born, she shows little confidence in her mother's ability to babysit.
Finally, stir-crazy at home alone with the infant, she concedes to Billie's offer so that she and Eric can go out for dinner together.
But when Billie fails to answer a call from her daughter during the evening, Myranda dashes home in a panic. Luckily there is nothing to worry about – bar Myranda and Billie's relationship.
