The designer who's become a favourite with the world's leading ladies of fashion
Samantha Cameron hosted a reception at 10 Downing Street last Tuesday for fashion’s movers and shakers — including me, remarkably.
This was the Camerons’ version of Cool Britannia as the great and good of the style world struck poses in the state rooms of one of the world’s most famous addresses.
American Vogue editor Anna Wintour gave a speech, Chancellor George Osborne mingled and designer Sir Paul Smith was in attendance. Models Poppy Delevingne and Laura Bailey were locked deep in conversation.
Bright lights at No 10: Samantha Cameron wears a turquoise and hot pink creation straight off Roksanda Ilincic's spring/summer 2012 catwalk as she hosts a reception celebrating British fashion
But all eyes were on Mrs Cameron who wowed in a sleek maxi skirt and peplum top by British-based Serbian designer Roksanda Ilincic.
The turquoise and hot pink creation is straight off the spring/summer 2012 catwalk, and was accessorised with a custom-made silver belt and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.
Sam Cam is not alone in her love of the label — the Duchess of Cambridge and Michelle Obama have also worn Roksanda’s creations.

So far, so exclusive, but the good news is that although Sam Cam’s outfit would cost you more than 1,000, the designer has two diffusion lines at Debenhams — Edition, a daywear collection, and RI for eveningwear.
With prices starting at 35, the future looks bright.
