The 99p party dress: Shoppers will pay six times more for delivery than garment costs from online fashion store

With all the presents and festivities to pay for, Christmas can be a notoriously expensive time of year.
But one fashion retailer has come up with a way for women to save money while still looking good in a new outfit for the party season: the 99p dress.
Online store OMGfashion.co.uk said the cut-price dress, which went on sale yesterday, was an early Christmas treat for customers who didn't want to spend a fortune on something they might wear only once.
Cheaper than a glass of wine: The nude dress with peplum detail and gold embellishment costs just 99p
'We recognise the fact that girls do not like to be seen in the same dress
twice especially with photos circulating on social media websites.
Looking good and creating a new look for each night out comes with a
price tag – not any more.' they said.
The 99p dress comes in a nude shade and is a body con style with peplum detail embellished with gold sequins. It is available in sizes 8-14 and is made from polyester and elastane.
Christmas special: Bargain hunters will have to pay 2.95 (or 5.99 for next day delivery) for the dress to be posted from OMGfashion.co.uk
For anyone wanting to snap up the cut-price dress, they will actually spend more on postage than they will on the item itself. UK next day delivery costs 5.99 while UK standard delivery is 2.95.
But such is the demand for the dress, the fashion website crashed this afternoon. The company has promised to be back online shortly and have said the dress will continue to be on sale for 99p all of next week.
A spokesperson said: 'The brand do have stock of the dress and it is continuing to sell really well – OMGFashion.co.uk is simply trying to cope with all this great popularity.'
