“I want answers:” Teen Mom”s Leah is devastated as baby daughter is booked in for MRI scan to detect suspected brain abnormalities
With her marriage to Corey Simms unravelling before our her eyes, Leah Messer”s life becomes even more stressful tonight when she discovers difficult news about one of her daughters.
Their daughter Ali, whose twin sister Aleeah is progressing normally, was diagnosed with a developmental disorder last season.
Although her eye problems are improving, thanks in part to some adorable pink glasses, a trip to the doctor”s surgery gives the young mother more reason to worry.
Worrying news: Leah is told that Ali”s optic nerves are too short and that she will need an MRI scan to check for brain abnormalities
After examining Ali”s eyes , Dr. Tarakji explains to Leah that Ali”s small optic nerves could indicate “abnormalities in the brain… and development and how she grows.”
Baby Ali, who is now 22-months-old, is going to have a brain MRI, which the ophthalmologist says will “tell us for sure if there”s a problem or if there”s not a problem and we”ll take it from there.”
“I just want answers,” Leah says worriedly.
She deals with the strain herself with her father Corey at work, but eventually he returns home to discuss his daughter”s progress.
That sucks! Corey, who is now divorced from Leah, leaves his then wife to deal with the troubling developments
Mature: Leah tackles the problem in a manner that surpasses her years, but finds the strain hard
He mutters: “That sucks,” while his wife outlines the procedure and tells him: “She”s so smart, she said “bye bye” before Aleeah did.”
But it”s a visit to her parents at the end of tonight”s show that really disturbs the couple, who are now divorced, because her mother has researched the condition, and fears Ali will lose her sight.
Chelsea is dealing with the less troubling matter of an injured knee and whether or not to get back together with Adam, not to mention deciding what is better for baby Aubree.
“I don”t see how people get over their first love, I can”t,” she bemoaned.
Sisters: Aleeah is progressing normally, though Leah says that Ali is actually speaking more quickly
Family time: Leah and the adorable girls visit her mother, who worries that Ali may lose her sight
Keiffer and Jenelle are arguing a lot as she tries to complete schoolwork and he gambles; the fact that they are living in his car doesn”t help matters, neither does his drinking.
“You won”t even talk to me,” she says to a stone-walling Keiffer, who calls her a “b****”, but Jenelle tells him that he won”t talk to her unless it”s about drugs.
Jenelle shows her gumption when she says she won”t put up with Keiffer”s substance abuse after suffering with an alcoholic in her last relationship.
And sure enough, she blows up when Keiffer tries to involve alcohol in a night out with her friends.
Temporary home: Jenelle is sleeping with Kieffer in her car after her mother threw her out
Row: Jenelle throws loose change at Kieffer after he refuses to stop drinking alcohol in front of her
“He knows I hate drinking so I don”t understand why he doesn”t see it makes me mad,” she says before threatening to punch him in the face if he drinks.
He storms out of the car and swigs from a bottle, and Jenelle throws loose change at him before the pair tussle and Jenelle storms off.
Chelsea eventually reunites with Adam; she doesn”t want to tell her father but he has spotted that the couple are friends again on Facebook.
“You like how he treats you” he asks his daughter.
Crocked: Chelsea injures her knee but it”s her heart she”s more concerned with
Father and daughter: But she decides to get back together with Adam after all, and convinces herself it”s for little Aubree
“Problem is that it”s just a matter of time before you”re home again crying about Adam,” he tells her before describing the decision as “dumb.”
Kailyn is trying to set up home herself, but is reluctant to tell her mother.
Baby Isaac approves of a house they visit, and the young mother decides to put wheels in motion to take it.
“I”m ready for the responsibility,” Kailyn asserts.
Disapproving: Chelsea”s father tells his daughter she is “dumb” to take Adam back
New start: Kailyn finds a place of her own to share with baby Isaac
