And the two other books in the E.L James trilogy were up there too – as were Suzanne Collins’ ‘Hunger Games’ and Stieg Larsson’s ‘Millennium’ books, suggesting that we are a nation escaping reality to delve into a fantasy world of crime, thriller and eroticism. Outside of the trilogies, the only book to enter the top 10 is ‘The Help’ by Kathryn Stockett taking 10th place
