SPOILER ALERT: Letitia Dean returns to EastEnders as Sharon Watts and calls on old flame Phil Mitchell for help

She was one of the original EastEnders residents who was kind-hearted, bolshy and buxom and lived a less-than-dull life embroiled in romance, murder, and running a pub.
And now, six years after she departed Albert Square for the second time, Sharon Watts is back – and calling on old flame Phil Mitchell for help.
Letitia Dean, who plays the long-suffering Sharon, was seen filming her comeback scenes today with actor Steve McFadden, who plays Phil.

They were seen in a high-speed chase in his Range Rover in a plot that sees Sharon call on Phil after her son is kidnapped.
The little boy is Dennis Jnr, her son from her brief marriage to Dennis Rickman, played by Nigel Harman, who was killed off on New Year's Day 2006.

According to leaked reports, Dennis Jnr is taken on Sharon's wedding day but bosses are keeping tight-lipped about who the groom is and why the boy is snatched.
A show insider told the Star: 'Sharon’s back and is in serious trouble. She knows that when things are this bad there is only one person she can turn to and Phil’s happy to help.'

Sharon and Phil are seen in the car speeding around some woods, with an unidentified woman, played by former This Life actress Juliet Cowan in the back seat.
It was first revealed in February that Letitia, 44, would be returning to the soap, and this is the third time she has come back to the Square.
She was one of the original characters
and appeared in the very first episode on February 19 1985 and was
introduced as Queen Victoria landlords Angie and Dennis Watts' adopted

She was involved in many scandalous storylines but her affair with brother-in-law Phil – she was married to Grant Mitchell, played by Ross Kemp – proved to be ratings gold but it also prompted her departure in 1994.
In 2001 she returned to take over the
pub and was in the Square until 2006 when she left following the
stabbing of Dennis who died in her
The following year
she took part in Strictly Come Dancing, in which she was the first to be
eliminated and then joined Calendar Girls on the UK tour.

Letitica, whose scenes are expected to debut later this summer, told the Daily Mirror: 'I am really looking forward to being a part of the EastEnders team again.

been very close to my heart. I cannot wait to work with my old
colleagues and see what is in store for Sharon.'

Former executive producer Bryan Kirkwood, who quit the show in March but was instrumental getting Letitia back added: 'I'm thrilled that Letitia is coming back home to Albert Square, where she belongs.
'Sharon is a real favourite amongst EastEnders' fans and I for one can't wait until she arrives back.'
