It is believed the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony will be the last time the Spice Girls perform together as a five.
The group burst on to the British pop scene some 16 years ago and enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame thanks to their debut track, Wannabe, which remains the most successful song ever performed by an all-female group.
After nine number ones and sales in excess of 75 million records, the band officially dissolved in 2001 – five years after the departure of Geri Halliwell in 1996.
