Upset: Eighties singer Sinitta, pictured at the London premiere of Titanic 3D last month, is furious with Tom Bower's biography of her ex Simon Cowell
A furious Sinitta has angrily hit out at Tom Bower's biography of her ex-boyfriend Simon Cowell, claiming the tome is full of 'lies'.
After a string of revelations in the newspapers this week, the 80s pop star finally got her hands on a copy of the book when it hit shelves yesterday.
And given her Twitter activity last night, the 45-year-old is unhappy with what she has read so far.
Although she doesn't point out exactly what she has read that has upset her, she denies claims in the book that Cowell uses black toilet paper.
Sinitta famously dated Cowell in the early 1980s, but the pair have remained close friends since their split.
Bower's book, which was serialised in a tabloid this week, claims Sinitta originally dated Cowell's younger brother Nick.
The bio goes on to claim she even went on a family holiday with the Cowells.
Soon after, she asked Simon to help her with her music career and they started dating.
But their relationship ended up ending because they became bored with each other, according to Bower.
After reading a third of the book, Sinitta said she found some of the content 'hurtful' and 'mean'.
She wrote: 'A lie detector and a Bible will prove
a lot of this nonsense is rubbish, I'm willing to stand up to this B.S.
I've finally had enough!'
She accused Bower of getting facts 'so wrong', and hoped she would get the chance to 'clear up the inaccuracies'.
She tweeted: '…Its hurtful and mean and not true.
'We ALL deserve to clear some things up… I can't even believe some of the lies.
'Not happy so far… only a 3rd of it so far.
I am not gagged and can clear up the inaccuracies in Tom Bowers
book. The real facts are even documented how did he get them so wrong!'
When one Twitter follower asked her directly about reports Cowell spends 10-a-roll on black toilet paper, she replied: 'No,that's true.'
Unhappy: Sinitta replied to a series of Twitter messages about her opinion on the the book
Tell-all: Tom Bower's book Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life Of Simon Cowell hit stores yesterday
In his book, Sweet Revenge: The
Intimate Life Of Simon Cowell, Bower said Sinitta wasn't the only time
the Cowell brothers had dated the same woman – he claims the music mogul
dated Page 3 girl Vanya Seager after Nicholas did.
He wrote: 'The brothers enjoyed swapping girlfriends.'
Despite their romance not lasting
long, Sinitta has always remained close to Simon and regularly appeared
alongside him on The X Factor UK.
Sinitta and her two children often holiday with the Britain's Got Talent judge in the Caribbean.
Bower was introduced to Cowell's
inner circle during a recent cruise in the Caribbean, but Sinitta was
under strict instructions not to talk to him.
Cowell did give Bower permission to speak to his elderly mother Julie for five hours.
Sinitta has said she promised Simon not to speak to Bower, who had told her not to in front of the investigative journalist while holidaying on his superyacht.
She said earlier this week: 'For the record I gave a verbal agreement NOT to contribute to Tom Bower book and kept my word.'
Last week, Simon spoke of his 'embarrassment' over some of the revelations in the book.
Speaking to TMZ Live, Cowell says he feels 'not gentlemanly at all' as details of the yet-to-be released book – Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell – hit the headlines.
The 52-year-old star insists it is not his style to 'kiss and tell' but said: 'When you are with someone for a long time, they do get stuff out of you.'
Cowell says he decided to let Bower have personal access to him after taking advice from his pal Bernie Ecclestone, who was also the subject of an unauthorised Bower book.
