A schoolgirl has landed a job that has made her the envy of all her friends – as an official toy tester.
Five-year-old Jessica Rosbrook gets to try out all of the latest must-have toys before they hit the shops, thanks to her appointment by toy firm Tomy.
As the toy giant's official tester, Jessica spends hours at ‘work’ playing with the latest games, gadgets and gizmos before rating and reviewing each item.
Best job in the world: Five-year-old Jessica Rosbrook is an official toy tester for Tomy and has scores of products delivered to her house every day
The schoolgirl from Greenhithe in Kent gets a host of new products delivered to her door throughout the year.
And has now built up an enviable collection of toys – most of which she can keep once the testing phase is over.
She is also invited to visit the company headquarters where she gets to try out the latest creations under the watchful eye of Tomy officials.
Jessica’s mum Carly, 33, said her daughter could always be relied upon to give her honest opinion.
She said: Jessica absolutely loves trying out all of the new toys and she’s certainly aware of how lucky she is.
Envy of her friends: Jessica roadtests the toys and gives them ratings
'At first she just enjoyed getting new things to play with but now she realises what she’s doing and that what she says could impact whether or not a toy actually makes it into the shops,' says Jessica's mother Carly
'At first she just enjoyed getting new things to play with but now she realises what she’s doing and that what she says could impact whether or not a toy actually makes it into the shops.
'She likes the fact that she gets to try things out before other children and that her opinion counts.'
Joanne Gray, head of European marketing for Tomy, said the feedback Jessica provided was crucial.
She said: 'We think it is vitally important to get consumer feedback on our products throughout the stages of development.
'That way, we can make sure that when that product arrives on a toy store shelf that it absolutely delivers against expectations.
'This is where Jessica comes in. The only way you can really find out if the toy delivers is by getting an age appropriate kid to play with it.
'It’s all about hands on experience so we are really grateful for all of the insights we have gleaned from Jessica and her mum.'
Fortunate: Jessica's mother Carly, 33, says her daughter is aware how lucky she is
