It turns out The Beach Boys were onto something when they sang about how irresistible California Girls are.
Santa Monica, West Hollywood and San Francisco have been found to hold the highest concentration of women who believe sex is critical in a romantic relationship.
In a survey conducted by online dating website Chemistry.com, 10million U.S. singles were interviewed about how much they value sex in a relationship.

The top three cities to contain the most women who 'strongly agreed' that sex is an essential part of a romantic relationship were all found to be located on the West Coast.
They were followed by Scottsdale, Arizona, Seattle, Washington and Portland, Maine.
New York came in at seventh place while Boulder, Colorado and California’s Oakland and Pasadena rounded out the top ten cities.
The results follow research found last year that claimed that women value sex more than men do.

Women, on the other hand, ranked sexual satisfaction a more vital factor.
Men were also interviewed in the survey, which new members to Chemistry.com completed to be matched with like-minded partners by the website.
Interestingly, Lubbock, Texas which is located in the western part of the U.S. was found to hold the least amount of men who value sex highly.
The survey was made with the help of biological anthropologist Dr Helen Fisher, who acts as the website’s chief scientific advisor. She said males in Lubbock tend to be ‘traditional, conventional, cautious and methodical.’
