She may have put on a brave face to dazzle crowds at the Wireless Festival over the weekend.

But two days on from the funeral of her beloved grandmother Dolly, Rihanna is still clearly mourning her loss.

The 24-year-old singer has posted a picture on her Twitter page in which she is visibly struggling to cope with the strain her relative's death has put on her.

Showing off a new plaited hairstyle and wearing a brightly coloured tie-dye T-shirt, Rihanna looked pained as she cast her eyes towards the camera.

Accompanying the photograph, she wrote: 'A$XP creez ‪#ibethatprettymuthap****a'

Earlier this month the Rude Boy singer revealed via Twitter that her treasured 'Gran Gran Dolly' had passed away at a New York City hospital following a long battle with cancer.

After performing at the Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park on Sunday, the star jetted back to her native Barbados, where she attended the funeral of her late relative.

Wearing a simple black shift dress with her hair twisted up into a beehive style, Rihanna looked devastated as she was seen emerging from a chauffeured car at the memorial service.

Later in the day, the singer tweeted a picture of herself, make-up free and holding what appeared to be a bottle of beer.

The accompanying message read: 'I had to!!! Sorry granny.'

In addition to the heartfelt messages and photographs Rihanna has been tweeting of her treasured relative, the star has also posted a series of poetic tributes.

'Words can't explain the essence of her beauty,' she said. 'You and you alone no other one.'
