Ricky Gervais has landed back to reality with a bump.
The comedian failed to crack a smile as he carried a giant umbrella around NYC, sheltering himself and partner Jane Fallon from the rain.
Sporting identical sullen expressions; the Golden Globes host and partner Jane Fallon looked utterly miserable during their Big Apple stroll.

Dressed in blue jeans and a leather jacket, Ricky played the gentleman by protecting his producer and screenwriter girlfriend of 29 years.
The Office actor, 50, is fresh from presenting the 69th annual Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday; his third time as host.
Gervais landed in New York last night, in preparation for his 21st television appearance on Late Show With David Letterman.
He tweeted: 'Hello New York. It's cold & rainy & beautiful Doing my 21st Letterman tomorrow. But first a little drink and sleep'.

It seems he was also fleeing LA after Justin Bieber fans did not take kindly to his onstage gag about their hero.
Ricky added: 'Getting out of town now. Bieber fans aren't happy with me. That's some scary s**t. Ricky said: 'Justin Bieber nearly had to take a paternity test.
'What a waste of a test that would have been. “No, he's not the father!”
'The only way that he could have impregnated a girl was if he borrowed one of Martha Stewart's old turkey basters. Open wide.'
Ricky and Jane claim to have never
married as 'there's no point in us having a ceremony before the eyes of
God because there is no God'.
