Rebecca had tweeted earlier: 'I am single and you would have to be pritty extraordinary to change that! because i love single life with my girls 😉 xxxx'

But it sounds like she ran into a bit of trouble during the night out, saying: 'A
table full of cocky football players! think because they can afford
fizzy wine they can mistreat people got to be humble and nice!!'

The budding star, who came runner-up to Matt Cardle on X Factor in 2010, broke up with One Direction's Zayn Malik, 19, in July last year.

Their relationship caused controversy because of the six-year age gap – Zayn was 18 at the time – and the fact she has two children.

Rebecca has just released a new video for her song Too Good To Lose, the second single from her first album, Heaven, which became the highest-selling debut album by a female artists last year, selling 450,000 to date.

Her first single, Nothing's Real But Love, which made the top ten last November, almost a year after she came in second to Matt Cardle on the X Factor.

Rebecca is getting set to try and break the American market, and has already been tipped as the next Leona Lewis, who won The X Factor in 2006 and is very successful across the Pond.

Rebecca is signed to Simon Cowell's Syco label and said being a Scouser helped her stand up to the label when they tried to make her more of a pop star than a soul singer.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, she said: 'When I was asked to do something I said: “I'm from Liverpool, do you think I'm stupid”'
