Tatler's annual Little Black Book list has been published and, among the usual gaggle of leggy, moneyed blondes and titled hooray Henrys, there are a few surprises – not least the addition of 86-year-old pensioner Sir David Attenborough.
The esteemed naturalist and broadcaster made it into the magazine's list of the top 100 bachelors and bachelorettes in the UK – taking his place alongside more traditional Tatler totty with the accolade of Most Stylish.
Popular with the birds: David Attenborough's 'dulcet tones' still get the girls going, say Tatler
Prince Harry made it to the top of Tatler's Little Black Book list, named as the ultimate eligible bachelor
Of Attenborough, who was happily married to wife
Jane up until her death in 1997, the magazine remarked: 'Never looked forward to a Sunday
night in just to be lulled by David's dulcet tones Then you don't deserve to be called an Englishwoman.'
The man at the top of the list was a more predictable name: Prince Harry. The young royal was awarded the title of Tatler's most eligible bachelor – no surprise, given the party-loving
prince, with his easy manner, handsome looks and undeniable charm, is currently
residing at the top of many a single girl's hit list (just ask the
hordes of women who tailed him around Las Vegas this summer).
As the sister of the future Queen of England, it was no surprise to see Pippa Middleton listed as one of the UK's most eligible women, while Model Jourdan Dunn represented as the most eligible females in the fashion world
Other honourable mentions include
Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch and fellow thespians Idris Elba Tom
Hiddleston, as well as Manchester City footballer Mario Balotelli and Olympic diver Tom Daley.
Representing the eligible women in
the UK was Pippa Middleton of course (what hot list would be complete
without the reigning Royal Hotness), as well as Great British Bake Off
presenter Sue Perkins, Harry Potter actress Emma Watson and Prince Harry's ex girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
Elsewhere, MP Nadine Dorries found
her way onto the list, while the youth contigent was represented by the
young slips of things that are the models Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Jourdan Dunn and Amber Le Bon.
