Not for hire: Pippa Middleton
A U.S. business is claiming it can hire out Pippa Middleton for 90,000 ($140,000) a time.
Florida-based Celebrity Talent Promotions says the Duchess of Cambridge's sister is available for 'corporate appearances, speaking engagements, endorsements and autograph signings'.
However, the 28-year-old is not connected to the firm and cannot be booked out by them.
Underneath an image of Miss Middleton posted on the website a caption reads: 'We are a
celebrity booking agency that also hires Pippa Middleton… as a keynote
presenter for speaking engagements, trade shows, conventions and store
It adds that, for a fee, she can be booked
for 'event hosting, licensing deals, product endorsements, print
advertising and television commercials'.
When the Daily Star Sunday phoned asking to book Miss Middleton, they were told it would cost between 18,500 and 25,000 ($30,000 and $40,000) for her to make a two hour appearance at an event in Los Angeles.
However the following day a worker from the celebrity booking service called back and said that the quote was 'way too low' and gave a revised estimate of 62,000 to 93,000 ($91,000 to $142,000).
Worker Adam Plotkin told the newspaper: 'You have to understand that she is connected to royalty so there are security issues here. The final figure might even be much higher.
'We're talking about two or three first-class round-trip airline tickets from London, plus five-star hotel accommodation while she's here. If you email me all the details about your event we will forward them to her.'
A spokesperson for Pippa signaled an immediate investigation, adding: 'This company does not represent my client and has no authority to make these claims about her on its website.
'We will be contacting them about this issue.'
Her profile has since disappeared from Celebrity Talent Promotions website.
It is believed Miss Middleton will be based in New York later in the year in anticipation of her party planning book Celebrate this October.
Television talk show hosts Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters are currently locked in a bidding war to interview her.
