He's been keeping himself quiet of late after calming down his wild rockstar lifestyle.
Now Pete Doherty has emerged in public once more, but he appeared almost unrecognisable after piling on the pounds.
The Babyshambles rocker stepped out for a gig in Monaco on Saturday looking almost double the size compared to his drug-fuelled heyday.
Pete's face appeared puffed up, thought to be down to him cleaning up his lifestyle and coming off the drugs.

He is currently receiving anti-drug treatment at a walk-in clinic and is using a pharmaceutical opiate called Subutex to help him cope with his withdrawal symptoms from Class A drugs.
The star still wore his staple black fedora hat and typical clothes consisting of a suit jacket, shirt and tie.
But it must have been a few sizes bigger than a couple of years ago, when the singer looked unhealthily skinny during his relationship with supermodel Kate Moss.
Piling on the pounds: The Babyshambles star appeared at the Swinging London Monaco Rose Ball, where he performed for the likes of Sir Roger Moore
The former Libertines star's face looked puffy as he attended the Swinging London Monaco Rose Ball last night.
It is thought his weight gain is down to quitting his drug demons, which can cause the pounds to pile back on.
Skinnier times: Pete looked healthier compared to his drug-fuelled wild stage a couple of years ago
But while he's certainly cleaned up his act, Pete still looked his usual self with scruffy hair, which he ruffled up when he took off his hat.
And it looked like he had injured his hand as he held up a bandaged wrist to tousle his locks.
Pete was seen spectating and chatting in the bar before he took to the stage with his guitar to play some tracks for the audience, which onsisted of stars including Sir Roger Moore, Karl Lagerfeld and Prince Albert of Monaco.
The rocker has kept a lower profile over recent times and has opted to spend most of his time in France.
He has taken to acting and filmed a film a French movie alongside fellow singer and model Charlotte Gainsbourg.
And his new home and acting endeavours have obviously worked wonders on his health.
But not on his increasing waistline.
While he's made a refreshing change and taken a break from being pictured partying the night away, Pete hasn't managed to keep himself out of the papers.
He has been at the centre of a lovechild scandal after it was revealed he fathered a daughter named Aisling with South African model Lindi Hingston.

Thinner: Pete appeared much skinnier before he attended rehab and overcame his drug demons
Last month the model told the South
African Sunday Times that she gave birth to Aisling in Cape
Town on Boxing Day last year.
The article did not reveal when she claims her relationship with Doherty started, nor how long it allegedly lasted.
However it reported that Doherty, 32, knows about the birth, is happy about it and that the couple are on 'good terms'.
Out of the spotlight: He's rarely been seen in public recently after spending time in France but he's been in the papers following the birth of his lovechild daughter
Addressing his recent fatherhood in a recent interview, Doherty told The Independent: 'Yeah, she's mine.'
But he also revealed his disappointment that Hingston had discussed the baby with the press.
He said: 'I'm
really surprised she's done that…
little girl was two months premature. I said I'd try to be there for the
birth. You know what, I don't want to talk about that.'
Changing looks: Pete was much skinnier when he was dating supermodel Kate Moss
But he was noticeably absent from her christening last week, which was held in a church in Lindi's native country.
Although it is thought he would have been unable to go because he is currently on bail for cocaine possession and unable to travel to South Africa.
Aside from Aisling, Doherty is also
father to eight-year-old son Astile with singer Lisa Moorish, who also
has a 13-year-old daughter Molly from a fling with Liam Gallagher.
