Canadian model Meghan Collison has walked some of the fashion world's most prestigious runways but seemingly the actual shoes have yet to fit.
The 22-year-old from Edmonton who strutted her stuff for Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel resort 2012 collection in Versailles in May, has revealed how a pair of plastic heels ripped her feet apart after only three wears.
Though Ms Collison was impressed by the glorious surroundings of the opulent, star-studded spectacle, the sharp-edged shoes left her feet bloodied and covered in band-aids.

Ouch! Chanel's plastic shoes made Ms Collison's feet bleed and forced her to wear band-aids on her heels
Speaking to WWD of the agony she endured, she revealed: 'They destroyed the back of my feet. I was bleeding afterward.'
The magnificent gardens of Versailles in

away by the picturesque setting.
'I'd never been,' she said, adding: 'Just the way they did everything with the runway, the fountains, I was like, “This is unreal.”'
Comfort: Ms Collison sported rubber-soled shoes for another look

But the novelty of her environment soon
wore off as she, along with her fellow models, practiced prancing around
the fountains ahead of the show.

The heeled sandals in question that
were worn by Ms Collison married black plastic with clear panes of the
same material that also gave the illusion of a peep-toe style.
On close inspection of photographs, her red-stained toes and attempts to cover the wounds are quite visible.
But as she walked the gardens, the model did well to hide the pain of the sharp edges and keep her balance on the loose gravel.
