Feuding bands are nothing new and Britain's two most promising exports reportedly nearly came to blows in Los Angeles recently.
But, despite talking the talk, a growing feud between the bands appears to be more than the clean-cut manufactured One Direction could cope with.
So instead of a scuffle in the car park with The Wanted, security guards acted as
mediators between the rivals and managed to negotiate a truce
– resulting in hugs instead of bloody noses.
However, Liam Payne was sporting a rather sore looking marking on his neck as the X Factor stars left Sydney airport.
