He's the teenage heart-throb famous for a penchant for older women.
But 18-year-old One Direction singer Harry Styles – who dated Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack, 33, and enjoyed a well-publicised fling with 32-year-old married DJ Lucy Horobin – says there is a definite age barrier he won’t cross.
In an exclusive One Direction interview inside today’s You magazine, Harry is asked: ‘How old is too old’ He says: ‘Any woman older than my mum Anne – who is 43.’

Harry, who has also been linked with Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia, 37, goes on to downplay his lothario image, insisting that many of the women he’s linked with are merely friends.
Harry adds: ‘I guess I go out in London and quite a lot of the girls I get photographed with are just friends and then according to the papers I have, like, 7,000 girlfriends.’
Since being formed on ITV’s The X Factor in 2010, One Direction have established themselves as one of the UK’s most successful boybands of all time. In just two years the band – Harry, 19-year-olds Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne, and 20-year-old Louis Tomlinson – have earned a reported 20 million each.
Their first album sold three million copies and they release their second album, Take Me Home, tomorrow.
Mummy's boy: Harry, 18, has said that he would not date a woman older than his mother who is 43
Adoring fans: Harry is surrounded by teenage fans wherever he goes but he has a reputation for liking older women
And the boys insist they deserve their success. Liam says: ‘There are a lot of people who get paid a lot for doing not much at all – socialites who appear in reality shows or people who earn, like, a million pounds a day working a couple of hours buying and selling shares. What we earn, we earn for doing an awful lot. We are constantly working.’
One Direction hope to emulate the success of Nineties boyband Take That, by continuing in the music industry for the next two decades.
Heartthrob: With One Direction's worldwide success, Harry Styles has become the object of many women's affections
Previous history: Harry's flings with married DJ Lucy Horobin, 32, and Caroline Flack, 33, were well publicised
‘When we first got together we went to Wembley to see Take That and thought, yeah, that’s what we want to be doing,’ says Harry.
‘Fifteen years from now we want One Direction to be playing a gig together at Wembley. The tickets aren’t available yet but hold on, because one day they will be.’
A personalised edition of the band's new album Take Me Home and an exclusive wall planner can be claimed through the Mail on Sunday.
