Paralympian Ellie Simmonds managed to sneak out of the athletics village for the evening to join her contemporaries to accept the award.

It was quite a change to see the athletes out of their lycra in designer clothes for the night, with golden girl Victoria looking glamorous in a Stella McCartney dress with sheer panels.

Of course, Stella also designed Team GB's kit for the Olympics and Paralympics.
