Olga admitted she was actually ask to
audition for the role as the more buxom, younger Lily Diamond (played by
Jessica Marais), but wanted to steer away from being typecast in the
obviously sexy roles.
Instead she was cast as former showgirl Vera – the wife of Miramar Playa hotel Ike Evans (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in 1959 Miami.
In Series 2 of the show, Vera is seen returning to the stage in a series of episodes, hence Olga's return to dance training.
She tells the magazine: 'It would have been so easy for me to fall into that and go the Lily route.
'I really have to protect myself. At this point, I shouldn’t be doing those kinds of overly sexy, frequently naked roles.'
Having started her career as a model, Olga admitted she was often deluged with offers for 'trashy' parts, which she would inevitably turn down.
She explained: 'I got parts offered to me, but I didn’t want to play them because they were too trashy. Being a model, of course, people try to get you into these overly sexual parts.'
