Nadya 'Octomom' Suleman appeared on Today this morning to talk about
life as a single mother of 14
children. But it was her peculiarly straight and heavy eyebrows that stole
the show.

The 36-year-old's unusual new look, described by Brits as a 'Scouse brow', stood
distractingly frozen above her dark eyes. Indeed it was a wonder any viewers could concentrate on what she was saying.

Her complexion also appeared suspiciously youthful, leading one to wonder if the fame-hungry
mother's makeover had also included cosmetic procedures.

Miss Suleman's groomed caterpillar-like brows, however, are likely to be an attempt to follow the fashion trend for a strong brow.

While it may have proved successful on the catwalk, though, the look is harder to pull off in reality than it seems.

Kate Middleton's giant arches also earned the unflattering 'Scouse brow' tag last year. Many might agree that Miss Suleman takes the idea to new extremes.

According to Rachel Wood, a celebrity make-up artist who
has worked with Olivia Palermo, Louise Roe and Lily Cole in the past, the unfortunate look could be easily redeemed by shaping
them differently.

Then and now: Her eyebrows, which have been deemed 'too thick' by celebrity makeup artist Rachel Wood, are significantly different to the pencil-thin ones she sported when she first shot to fame

The New York-based artist told MailOnline: '/04/05/article-2125606-126D9635000005DC-819_634x509.jpg” width=”634″ height=”509″ alt=”Overloaded: Octomom, pictured with just some of her giant clan, has received death threats since she revealed she is receiving benefits from the Californian government. Ms Wood added that time-starved mothers can even use a
toothbrush to substitute an eyebrow comb.

WHAT IS A SCOUSE BROW

Desperate Scousewives with Make-up artist Jodie Lundstram

Made famous by Jodie Lundstram, star of the short-lived British reality series Desperate Scousewives, the 'Scouse brow' is a heavily filled-in and often fake set of eyebrows.

They are normally much darker than a person's head hair colour. The term refers to the accent of people from Merseyside in the UK but originally stems from the word 'lobscouse,' a type of meat stew commonly eaten by sailors.

Of course, Miss Suleman's appearance on the Today show did have a
purpose. She spoke to host Matt Lauer about the welfare benefits
she now receives from
the Californian government.

She told how she had received death threats after it was reported that she is receiving
$2,000 worth of welfare benefits per month.

She revealed to Mr Lauer that she laughs at the ordeal and that Social
Services representatives 'laugh too' with her.

She added that it is 'sick and sad' that people have
responded in such a way.

The overexposed celebrity is clearly not intimidated by her critics.

She also said: '15 years from now, when they're [the children]
are 18 and legal… people will still be foaming at the mouth for my children to
be taken away from me.'
