The crazy world of Karl Lagerfeld: Now Chanel designer's cat Choupette has its own Twitter account… with 3,600 followers after just TWO days

He revealed last week that his new Siamese kitten was a whizz-kit on an iPad, or the iPet, as he dubbed it.
And now, Karl Lagerfeld has gone one further. The Chanel creative head has introduced his cat Choupette to the joys of Twitter.
And today, just two days after the kitten joined the micro-blogging site, she already has 3,617 followers – and that number is growing fast.
My clever kitty: Karl Lagerfeld posted a picture via Twitter of his Siamese cat busy playing with its iPad
From her Twitter page, decked out
with the slogan Chanel is my catnip, the cat tweets such delightful
nuggets as 'they named the runway catwalk after me,' and 'I would start a
fund for underprivileged cats except that would mean every cat besides
myself & I may be rich but not THAT rich.'
She talks about Karl, of course, alluding to the two of them sitting down for sushi suppers together.
Presumably Karl, who that not
insignificant job of one of the world's biggest fashion houses to run,
is not the one overseeing the precocious puss's output.
account has not yet been verified, making it impossible to know if
Karl's cat is really the one behind the tweets.
But whatever the reality, the
designer does follow his cat on the site – presumably to make sure she's
not sending inappropriate messages to Toms.
The Paris-based designer adopted Choupette earlier this month, after looking after him for a friend, his model muse Baptiste Giabiconi, and declaring that he had fallen in love.
Child substitute: Lagerfeld previously said he could never imagine having children of his own – but has fallen in love with his kitten, Choupette – who here posts her latest 'pet-icure' on her Twitter feed
Popular: Choupette has already gained over 3,600 followers since joining Twitter two days ago
The cat was soon introduced to life
the Lagerfeld way, sleeping on her own pillow, eating off the table
alongside her indulgent owner, and having two maids to cater for her
every whim – including keeping her iPad fully charged for use.
He even congratulated the kitten on her progress by posting a Twitter picture of her busy playing on the Apple device.
'She has lunch and dinner with me on
the table, with her own food. She doesn't touch my food,' he said earlier this week in an interview with WWD.
want to eat on the floor. She sleeps under a pillow and she even knows
how to use an iPad.'
'She is beyond spoiled,' he added.
He even gets his maids to keep a diary of her moods, movements and eating patterns if he's not with her.
'In the nine months, we already have almost 600 pages… I think it could be funny to make a little book of Choupette's diary.'
