A hit fashion blog that pays homage to the style of older women has been turned into a book.
Advanced Style, which is to be published next week, is a collection of street style photographs and interviews of the elegant, unique and inspiring seniors spotted on the streets of New York.
The idea was the brainchild of Ari Seth Cohen, who launched his blog of the same name in 2009, shortly after he first arrived in the city.
Fashion mavens: A new book titled Advanced Style, based on a street style blog, features stylish New York seniors (above). The photographer, Ari Seth Cohen, was inspired by his own grandmother's fashion sense
The women make for engaging subjects. Not only are they captivating in the way they dress, they have also proved to be extremely playful in front of the camera.
Devoted 'to capturing the sartorial savvy of the senior set', the 30-year-old was initially inspired by his own grandmother's personal style.
He told Stylecaster: 'I was best friends with my grandmother growing up, and was always inspired by her energy and wisdom.
'I wanted to show that creativity, style, and vitality advance with age, and hopefully help change people’s ideas about getting older.'

Advanced Style became something of a Sartorialist for the over-60s, earning high-profile fans that include Marc Jacobs and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, who is also a contributor to the book.
Mr Cohen, 28, told the New York Times's T magazine: 'My eyes have always been drawn to older people.
'From a style point of view, I find them more interesting because they are of an age where they don’t have to impress anyone and can wear what they want.'
He admits the hardest part about getting his subjects to pose for him is explaining what exactly a blog is to them.
Style at any age: The book's cover, featured above, encompasses everything the photographer has grown to love about New York's stylish senior citizens. It will be published next week
Glamour: His blog, which shows more of his work, has become something of a Sartorialist for the over-60s
His blog has naturally featured Iris Apfel, a senior style maven, in the past.
Some even occasionally appear also.
The book will also include interviews with Mr Cohen's subjects as well as advice from some of his 'most chic' ones.
Fascinating subjects: While the photographer has built a name for himself through his work with new York's stylish senior folk, the book will also feature photographs taken from around the world
Elegance: The book will also be packed with interviews and tips from his 'most chic' subjects
And his unique lens work is not limited to the streets of New York.
The photographer has included 'never-before-seen photography' from around the world.
It will be released on May 22.
