Red, white and blue stripes dominate patriotic Tommy Hilfiger's New York Fashion Week show

Tommy Hilfiger cited the 'American Voyage' as the theme of his New York Fashion Week show which revealed his sporty spring/summer 13 collection.
The designer said he wanted to channel U.S. style icons Lauren Hutton and Jackie O in his new range.
He also took inspiration from his country's flag with red, white a blue stripes a key trend in his designs.

Stripey suits, dresses and swimwear were all heavily featured on the runway of his show with some geometric patterns also on show.
The designer showcased a preppy look with blazers, polo shirt dresses and shorts all part of his new range for women.
He extended the sporty look to his cable knits with cricket-style jumpers.

The athletic theme was emphasised by the guests on the front row, including Olympians Allyson Felix and Sanya Richards-Ross.

2012 over 400m in the individual and relay events.
She was in line with his trend by wearing black and white striped trousers, a hat and navy blazer.

Hilfiger revealed that he thinks stripes will be popular with men as well as women next year.
'We think that stripes are really going to be the rule of the spring/summer for men,' he said.
This was evidenced in his range for men which was unveiled on Saturday and included striped
blazers and suits in his signature red, white and blue adorned with college emblems and gold insignia buttons.
