Panic over: You never need to worry about wearing odd socks thanks to a brand new app which helps you match your socks
Blacksocks founder and managing director Samy Liechti talks users through his savvy new device in a video and explains: 'Socks are smart. They always know where they come from, who they belong to and are always faithful to their sock partner because they never stray.'
But how does it work
All socks have a built in communication button, almost like a small chip, making every sock unique with their own id.
In an over-complicated process, users must first buy the actual Blacksocks socks with the built-in chip, then purchase the Blacksocks iPhone app, then use a special sock sorter device to scan each sock chip which transmits signals back to your iPhone and finally helps you match your socks.
Complicated: Each sock is fitted with a microchip which you scan using a device and iPhone application which helps you pair them
'Some cynical woman may claim that this is the only way a man could sort his socks' said Samy.
The app tells you all the vital
information you need to know about each sock from its status and how many times it has been washed to which foot it belongs on.
'Thanks to Smarter Socks you can now tell where your socks have come from, what their life has been like, and who they belong to.
Useful information: The app tells you everything you need to know about the life and times of your sock and even matches any left-over socks
'Sometimes socks split up too. But it's not usually down to differences of opinion or because one sock finds a younger model, it's because one of the socks gets lost or damaged,' he said.
Blacksocks really have thought of everything, so even if you have two spare socks left over, the app will pair them up.
And if that wasn't enough, the app also has a 'black-o-meter' function which tells you just how black your socks really are.
'We have developed something the world has never seen before. They must be the smartest socks in the world mustn't they' said Samy.
