Fans of EastEnders have always known Natalie Cassidy to be a brunette, until now.

The 29-year-old actress has tried on a bright red wig for size but it's all in the name of charity.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star has joined in on Wig Wednesday – a charity day set up by CLIC Sargent to raise funds and awareness for children and young people suffering from cancer.

'I've had so much fun playing around with my look,' Natalie said of wearing the wig 'The fact it's to help children and young people with cancer makes it even more worthwhile.'

Natalie was one of six celebrities who tried on a crazy wig and had their picture taken by famous photographer Rankin.

TOWIE star Frankie Essex looked almost unrecognisable in a black bob wig, while former glamour model Jessica-Jane Clement opted for a messed-up white hairpiece.

Also getting in on the fun was Bridget Jones' Diary star Celia Imrie who wore a pink curly wig, and actor Robert Glenister who looked particularly comical in a long brown wig.

'Wig Wednesday is a fantastically worthwhile campaign and I feel really privileged to be involved,' Robert said.

'It's such a cool and simple idea – wear a wig for the day and get your colleagues and mates to donate some money to CLIC Sargent to help them support children and young people with cancer.'

The sixth famous face to change their hair colour temporarily was Tara Palmer-Tomkinson who donned a bright purple wig for the photo shoot.

The whole point of the campaign is to urge the public to change their hairstyle today on May 23 to raise money for CLIC Sargent.
