Popular antiques expert David Barby has died after suffering a stroke.
The television personality, who appeared on shows including Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip, died in hospital a few days after suddenly falling ill.
Myleene Klass was among the first people to pay tribute to Barby following the news of his death.
She tweeted: 'Just heard the sad news about David 'Barbarella' Barby. RIP great man.'
15 hours ago, fellow antiques expert David Harper posted a message on his Facebook page confirming the news of Barby's passing.
The message read: 'I've had several messages today regarding my wonderful old friend David Barby and I'm very sad to confirm that he passed away last night after suffering a stroke 10 days ago – We'll miss him terribly'.
Touched by the amount of messages offering condolences and tributes for David, Harper thanked fans and friends for their kind words.
He tweeted: 'Thanks for all the lovely comments about David Barby. I will pass them onto his family for you. Thanks again'.
David Barby featured in the 500th show of the popular BBC programme Bargain Hunt on the red team alongside Philip Serrell.
David Harper uploaded a picture, which was taken only a few week ago, of himself, Myleene, John Barrowman and Barby to the micro-blogging site.
The caption on the image read: 'One of last pics of lovely David Barby.Only a couple of weeks ago with @KlassMyleene & @Team_Barrowman He's having fun!'
One tribute on Twitter read: 'Really sad to hear about David Barby, he was one of my all time favourite antique experts.'
And another fan wrote: 'My father told me that dear David Barby has died. V sad news. He was much loved in the antiques world.'
