They say you can never be too prepared, and Michelle Williams proved that no matter what the climate, she can dress to impress.
The My Week with Marilyn star showed up to the David Letterman show wearing a stylish faux fur-trimmed black coat buttoned up to keep her warm in the chilly New York weather.
But when she was leaving the studio, the actress revealed she had been hiding an equally stunning dress underneath the cosy jacket.

The Blue Valentine actress, 31, emerged wearing a floral green and white dress that was more suited to sunny spring than the current bitter Big Apple winter.
She appeared to have planned her outfit with precision, as both the neutral coloured coat and the bright dress were perfectly complimented by a pair of simple grey platform heels with sling back straps.
The blonde looked cheerful despite her bare legs in the cold climate, as she posed for the cameras before heading home.

And she has every reason to be smiling after learning she has been nominated for a Best Actress Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards, which will take place later this month.
The star is nominated for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn, which she was on the Letterman show to promote.
Michelle will compete for the gong alongside Meryl Streep, who is nominated for her depiction of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.

Michelle’s portrayal of the iconic film star has already seen her scoop a Golden Globe for Best Actress.
The star is currently involved in a Wizard of Oz reboot alongside an all-star cast which includes the likes of James Franco, Zach Braff, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz
Michelle plays Glinda the Good Witch in the fantasy film, Oz: The Great and Powerful, which is due to be released next year.
