It's one thing to encourage your child to pursue their dreams, but sometimes encouragement comes at a price.

A mother and daughter who live in Los Angeles told Anderson Cooper that moving to Hollywood so the young girl, Presley Cash, could become an actress has so far cost them over $160,000.

Not only that but the money that Presley's mother has whittled away on seven years of rent in Burbank has left nothing for the 14-year-old's college fund.

Like mother like daughter: Presley Cash, 14, an aspiring actress, appeared on Anderson Cooper today where her mother revealed they had spent $160,000 on her acting career and put nothing aside for college

During the episode that will air tomorrow, the red-headed mother-daughter team shocked Anderson and his guest Kelly Cutrone with the confession of how much they have sacrificed in pursuit of fame and fortune.

Presley's mother revealed that not only does she not have money put aside for her daughter's future, they have to share a bed in the expensive apartment.

How, why, what Scandalised by the fact that Presley's mother has spent such a fortune on her daughter's aspiring career, Ms Cutrone berated her for not even buying Presley a bed

Incensed by the situation and unable
to control herself, the outspoken fashion PR guru demanded: 'How you can
spend $160,000 and not have a bed Could you please just answer that
question for me'

Unwilling
to let her even answer the question, Ms Cutrone continued admonishing
Presley's mother for not letting let her daughter grow up and become a
teenager with the privacy of her own space.

Voices of reason: Anderson Cooper pointed out that taking an eight year old to Hollywood and setting up camp there for seven years is vastly different from an adult moving there and working to make ends meet

The dumbfounded bottle redhead had no
reply but nodded and agreed with Ms Cutrone who went on to speak of the
many famous people she knows who have come from deprived backgrounds
and whose parents 'didn't pick up the trailer and fly it over to
Oakwood.'

Anderson
also pointed out the difference between an 18-year-old moving to LA and
working as a waiter to make ends meet while auditioning, and Presley's
arrival aged eight.

'That's an adult making a decision. But an eight-year-old saying “oh yeah I want to be an actress” and you picking up and moving there…' he started.

But unable to finish his sentence
Presley's mum finally spoke up, cutting in: 'I would never… What I
know about that town, I would never allow my teenager or even someone
right out of college to go to that town because they would be eaten
alive.'

Presumably she meant, without her supervision – a discrepancy that Ms Cutrone jumped at the chance of pointing out.

'I think this is convenient for you,' she asserted. I' don't think you like being married to your husband and you just hang out with your daughter.'

After the taping today, the teenager who appeared last year in a Taylor Swift video for the single 'Mean', tweeted: 'Anderson Cooper and Kelly Cutrone bullies my mom and I on national tv. It's airing tomorrow.'
