M&S unveil vintage-inspired collection of lingerie to 'celebrate Jubilee'… but the Queen is unlikely to be a fan
M&S today unveiled a collection of vintage-inspired lingerie to celebrate the upcoming Jubilee.
But while the pretty range is sure to be a hit with shoppers, it is unlikely the Queen – who buys her underwear at Rigby & Peller – would wear any of the fun designs.
The capsule collection includes purple lace bra and knickers – and a leopard print teddy.
Happy anniversary! M&S unveiled a collection of lingerie to celebrate the Queen's jubilee, launching in April
The M&S lingerie design team delved into the company archives to take inspiration from original 1950’s underwear.
They came across the conical shape and transformed it into a more wearable bra for today’s customer as
well as the big knicker and corsetry.
The collection consists of four looks.
One is not amused: The Queen is unlikely to wear the print teddy, 35, and purple bra, 17.50, and knickers, 7.50
It features a dusky pink conical bra and retro teddy, a 'regal' purple bra and knicker set edged in a delicate vintage
style lace. The collection is complete with a chic ‘ermine print’ body.
In the 1950's M&S sold just 3 bra
sizes, in small medium and large, compared to today – M&S now have over
44 different sizes to choose from.
The collection will be available in store and online from May.
