Just as viewers thought Spencer's love life couldn't get anymore complicated after the on/off debacle with Caggie, they were proved wrong.
The dark haired Lothario continued his all out assault on ex-girlfriend Louise, despite her having a fledgling relationship with his good friend Jamie Laing, and things didn't end well for Mr Matthews.
The Made In Chelsea star looked shocked when Jamie told him at the start of tonight's episode that he had been to visit Louise Thompson in Edinburgh, Scotland.
No way: Spencer Matthews lost out in love to Jamie Laing on tonight's episode of Made In Chelsea
The victor: Jamie Laing was worried throughout the episode that Spencer was going to get his woman
Jamie said: 'I've been on a little trip. I went up to Edinburgh to see Louise. I spoke to her and said that I miss her and I like her.'
Spencer was equally surprised by the news and said: 'I'm in a pretty similar situation with her too.
I've basically just realised recently how lucky I was to go out with her, it's not like oh I want to sleep with my ex girlfriend again because she's fit. I've developed those feelings for her.'
National travel: Spencer looked shocked when he found out that Jamie had travelled to Edinburgh, Scotland, to see Louise
Awkward moment: Jamie had gatecrashed a lunch party between Hugo Taylor, Rosie Fortescue and Spencer
Not convinced by Spencer's feelings, Jamie pressed him and said he really liked her more than he ever thought he would.
But the stubbled star hit back and insinuated that they had a sexual relationship. He said: 'We went out the other night and she stayed at mine.'
Jamie retorted: 'But she said that nothing happened between you and she has no feelings for you.'
Clearly confused and thrown by the things his friend had revealed, Jamie went to Oliver Proudlock to talk about the problem.
Wise words: Jamie went and discussed his current love problem with his other good friend Oliver Proudlock
Proudlock smartly stated that Spencer didn't lose Louise, he chose to break up with her.
He said: 'He closed that chapter, he ended it, it was his decision to end it.'
Not content with the reassuring words of his bespectacled chum, Jamie decided to confront Louise via the internet about the issue.
Over Skype, Jamie questioned Louise about what Spencer had told him earlier and said: 'Have you spoken to him recently'
She replied: 'He left me a voice-mail last night that was pretty intense. It actually upset me a bit because it made me think 'god he sounded so vulnerable''.
Virtual love: After the news that he heard from Spencer, Jamie questioned Louise over Skype chat
Completely confused: Louise denied having any feelings for Spencer and she even called him a liar
Pushing further Jamie said: 'So did you say anything to Spencer about having no feelings for me'
An adamant Louise said: 'I don't want to be with Spencer. I swear on my life that I never said it. He's playing games.'
A perplexed Jamie then stated: 'So he's just making up stuff to make me feel s***.'
Later the same night, Jamie joined Hugo and Spencer for a drink in their local pub, and the atmosphere between the two friends was palpable.
Sweet dreams: Jamie still seemed confused by what Louise said and he ended the conversation abruptly
Round two: Jamie joined Hugo and Spencer for drinks later that evening and confronted his love rival
After Hugo encouraged them to sort out their differences, Spencer said: 'I'm gonna go see her to just talk to her about everything.'
Without hesitation Jamie explained that Louise had told him she didn't want to see him.
Spencer hit back and said that he wants her to ring him and tell her if she doesn't want to see him and she should stop going through Jamie.
Both guys took it in turns to call her in front of everyone but she unfortunately failed to answer either of them.
Sort it out: Hugo implored his two friends to talk about the elephant in the room once and for all
You're a liar: Mr Laing took a firm stance with Spencer and told him that he should leave Louise alone
Just as Spencer began to breathe a sigh of relief, Louise called back Jamie but he refused to answer the phone.
A forlorn Spencer said: 'I have these strong feelings for her and I should be at least allowed to tell her that.
'Ok if you don't want me to go to Edinburgh I won't go. I do need to hear from her though that there is nothing left for me.'
Bad news: Louise and Jamie spoke briefly before Spencer waltzed over and whisked her away
Walk this way: Spencer led his ex-girlfriend away from the party into the bathroom to have a chat
Louise may have been causing confusion amongst the lads but she made her feelings clear to Rosie.
She said: 'I think it quite insulting how he thinks he can just pick and choose when he has feelings for me and I'll just give him another chance.'
The love triangle was set to come to a head at Hugo's party at luxury hotel 51 Buckingham Gate, the following evening as all three people would be present.
Truth hurts: Spencer laid his cards on the table and told Louise exactly how he felt and why it happened
Hair raising: Louise was shocked and confused by Spencer's admission but told him she had no feelings for him
All by myself: The Made In Chelsea star looks subdued as he is left alone in the bathroom after his advances were spurned
With music pumping and alcohol flowing free, Spencer took a moment to speak to Louise about their current situation.
Leading her into a bathroom he said: 'Listen I came in here to tell you how I feel. I am massively into you at this time. You mean a lot to more to me than you think.
'I don't want to pick you up and drop you, I just want to pick you up.'
Friends reunited: Jamie and Louise shared a passionate kiss after she told him she had cleared the air with Spencer
Feeling blue: A downtrodden Spencer catches his ex-girlfriend kissing his good friend and leaves the party early
Even with his well rehearsed speech, Louise was unmoved and said: 'Well you've laid your cards out but I don't have feelings for you anymore so I don't need this.'
Resurgent and feeling good about herself now that she had accomplished some closure, Louise walked straight up to Jamie to tell him what had happened.
She said: 'It was a little bit awkward but I managed to clear the air,' as the two ended the drama with a long passionate kiss which Spencer managed to leave Spencer looking heartbroken.
Sealed with a kiss: The two friends now have nobody in their way to stop their blossoming relationship
