'They're engaged but I can't tell you if the wedding will actually happen': Mad Men actress Jessica Par teases relationship with Don Draper in new series

She won the heart of Don Draper at the end of the last series of Mad Men but actress Jessica Par has revealed her character Megan Calvert may not yet become the second Mrs Draper.
'I can't confirm or deny anything about the new season. They're engaged but I can't tell you if the wedding has (happened) or will actually happen,' she teased of the new series in an interview with the Independent.
Fans of the show will have to stay tuned as it returns for it's fifth season this month to find out if Don, played by Jon Hamm, will finally settled down.
Don Draper proposed to Megan Calver in the last series of Mad Men, back on television at the end of the month
His character made the shock proposal
at the end of the last series, choosing a relationship with the
straight-forward young secretary over one with clever doctor Faye Miller
who knew the truth about his past and unfaithful personality.
'I think a lot of people were definitely disappointed that he picked the easier woman,' Par admitted.
Mad women: Jessica Pare, left, will co-stars Kiernan Shipka, Elisabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks
However, she definitely isn't one of them as her relationship with the main character has secured her role on the successful show.
The actress revealed that when she was cast as Megan, a secretary at the fictional advertising agency Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, she had no idea how the part would evolve, or even how long it would last.
When she read in a script that Megan would kiss Don, she thought that sounded the death knell for her time on set.
Intrigue: Will Don, played by Jon Hamm, marry Megan, or could he return to first wife Betty, played by January Jones
'The women Don kisses don't usually have a great shelf life,' she jokes. 'Everyone kept saying, “well it was nice working with you”'.
But now as Don's fiance, Par's role will continue, but even she doesn't know for how long. 'I could be gone by the next script,' she admits.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to seeing how her relationship with Don progresses and if she'll clash with Don's first wife Betty, played by January Jones.
Her elevated role as Don's fiance could also affect her relationship with the other women employed at the advertising agency, Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) and Joan Harris (Christina Hendricks).
Back for a fifth season: Writer Matthew Weiner said the theme will be 'every man for himself' for the characters this year
Writer Matthew Weiner has added to the intrigue ahead of the new series launch by revealing that the theme of this season will be 'every man for himself'.
He added: 'There are always curve balls. If you could plan it out, it’s no fun. I don’t want the audience to be bored, and I don’t want to be bored.'
Mad Men season five starts on 27 March on Sky Atlantic
