When it comes to the bond between a man and his dog, few women can compete – even if they are the future Queen.
Kate Middleton turned out today to watch her husband Prince William and his brother Harry in action at a charity polo event in Gloucestershire.
But she had to play second fiddle as the Duke of Cambridge shared a tender moment with his beloved Cocker Spaniel puppy Lupo.

The match took place on the final day of the Gloucestershire Festival of Polo, at the Beaufort Polo Club – and was staged to raise money for children's charities Well Child, Child Bereavement and Tusk.
Kate eagerly watched from the sidelines as the duke competed.
But when it was all over and William dismounted, she was forced to look on as he swept Lupo into his arms and showered the six-month-old with kisses.
