Lucy Spraggan misses X Factor rehearsal as grandmother passes away just hours after watching her perform on live show

X Factor hopeful Lucy Spraggan had to cancel her rehearsal this week after finding out her grandmother had died.
The singer songwriter was too upset to perform after hearing the news on Monday as she left the luxury London hotel to go and see her grieving grandfather James.
Lucy's grandma, Marjorie Spraggan, passed away in her sleep on Sunday evening just hours after proudly watching her granddaughter sing on the first live show.

Lucy, 21, took to Twitter to tell her near 250,000 followers that she was unable to hold her daily interaction with them due to the news.
On Monday she tweeted: 'I'm really sorry to say I won't be doing a twitcam today, I had some really sad news this morning. Thank you to everyone for the support.'
After being notified of Marjorie's passing, Lucy told X Factor bosses she needed to be with family and headed back to Kent.
Although the Sheffield-born star returned
to rehearsals on Tuesday afternoon, she is said to have been shocked by

Lucy's grandmother had recently suffered with poor health but she was on the mend and expected to be recover fine.
Lucy said: 'She was a great woman – my nanny and granddad were together for more than fifty years so I just really want to be around to support him and my family at this time.
'My granddad is an amazingly strong and kind man and they loved each other very much. She’s at peace now and that’s comforting to know.
'She was so proud to see me singing and I’m glad that I made her smile. She’ll be greatly missed.'
A show source said: 'Lucy is back with the other contestants but we are giving her as much time as she needs to go and see her family at this sad time.'
