She has been keeping a low profile this summer since a clutch of ill-advised public appearance earned her a host of unwelcome headlines.
But last night Pippa's conduct could not have been more appropriate, as she appeared at a very civilised affair – a book launch for adventurer and presenter Ben Fogle's new book, The Accidental Naturalist.
Book worms: Pippa Middleton joins Ben Fogle and wife Marina Fogle at the launch of Ben's new book The Accidental Naturalist at Lutyens and Rubinstein last night
Pippa has been keeping a relatively low profile of late, only appearing a handful of times in public since scandal erupted around her friendship with a gun-toting French aristocrat
The sister to the Duchess of Cambridge looked cheerful and composed as she chatted to Fogle and his wife, Marina at the launch.
Perhaps Pippa was keen to attend to
scout out the perfect way to host a book launch, given that her own
literary offering, a party planning guide called Celebrate, is due out
in October this year.
It is one of only a handful of public appearances that Pippa has made this summer – and all have been very sedate affairs. There was a film premiere earlier this month, a turn in the Royal box at Wimbledon, a summer wedding or two, and a rather low profile sighting at the Jubilee pageant.
It was reported that Pippa had been advised to keep her head down, following a media storm that erupted after she attended a Marie Antoinette-themed fancy dress party in Paris earlier this year.
The day after the party, Pippa was photographed in a car with French aristocrats, one of whom was waving a toy gun in the air.
Pippa Middleton, who has her own book coming out later this year, looked animated as she looked through Fogle's literary offering
