Katie Holmes is believed to have enrolled daughter Suri Cruise into the same New York City school once attended by Lady Gaga.
The six-year-old girl, who has been at the centre of an alleged custody dispute between the actress and estranged husband Tom Cruise, is expected to begin classes at Manhattan's Convent of the Sacred Heart School this autumn.
The Catholic girls academy would be a far departure from the Scientology school Cruise is said to have wanted Suri to attend.
Another day out: Katie Holmes, pictured with
daughter Suri in New York City on Tuesday, is believed to have enrolled the six-year-old in first grade at an all-girls Catholic school on the Upper East
Katie and Tom, who married in Italy in 2006, settled their divorce proceedings last week after the actress filed the paperwork at the end of June.
She is thought to have won primary custody of Suri, who will remain with her in New York where they currently reside.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the actress has prepared for their new future by quietly enrolling Suri into first grade at the Upper East Side school.
Classes, scheduled to begin on September 6, would mark Suri's first in an open classroom format. She was previously home-schooled.
Prestigious: Suri is expected to begin classes at Manhattan's Convent of the Sacred Heart School this autumn
The curriculum at Sacred Heart is thought to be extremely strict, requiring students to attend Mass every Thursday.
Tuition reportedly costs $38,000 a year.
However, a receptionist at Sacred Heart has denied Suri is attending.
Schooling was reported to have been a point of contention between Tom and Katie, with the Mission: Impossible actor believed to have wanted Suri to attend a Scientology school like his eldest children with Nicole Kidman, Isabella, now 19, and Connor, 17.
Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, is among a long list of A-list alumnae at the school, which calls itself on its website 'the oldest independent school for girls in New York City.'
Caroline Kennedy, actress Jordana Brewster, Paris and Nick Hilton have also graduated from Sacred Heart.
Speculation about Suri's enrollment follows Katie's registration as a parishoner at a Catholic church in New York this week.
Speculation meanwhile continues to surrounds the divorce agreement between the actress and her estranged husband.
It was reported by TMZ today that Tom has not paid Katie a lump sum in the deal.
However, sources have allegedly told the website that Tom will pay 'more than $10 million' in child support for Suri until she is 18.
Although Katie is reported to have sole custody of Suri as part of the settlement agreement, the actor is said to have substantial visitation rights.
Speaking about their split, the former couple released a joint statement affirming their commitment to their daughter: 'We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests.
'We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents,' it read.
