A rare interview with one of the fashion industry’s biggest divas: Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette who loves shopping, iPads, antique lace and has TWO maids

It all started with Paris Hilton's teacup chihuahua and now handbag pets are seen as the essential celebrity accessory. But it isn't just pet pooches making the headlines.
Meet fashion's finest feline: Karl Lagerfeld's furry friend Choupette.
In two simultaneous interviews, the first with i.D magazine, and then with U.S. Harper's Bazaar, the Chanel designer chats about his most prized furry possession.
Karl and his cat: Harpers Bazaars September issue includes a never before seen image of Karl Lagerfeld with his precious feline friend, Choupette
This pussy favours walks along the catwalk over walks in the park and prefers hitting the shopping mall or lounging in antique lace to frolics in the garden.
In true diva style, she doesn't just have one name. She has three.
'Her name is
Choupette, Princess Choupette or Miss Choupette. She’s snow white with
touches of caramel around the eyes, ears and on her endless boa-like
feather tail,' Mr Lagerfeld told i.D magazine.
In her free time you can find her sleeping,
hiding, running and jumping like mad around the house, but she detests getting wet.
She is also a fan of chasing big
fleas in her private garden and making it difficult for her owner to work by
jumping on his papers.

The designer told U.S. Harper's Bazaar: 'She doesn’t like to eat on the floor, so I have to put the food on the table. Her dishes are by Goyard. She has one for water, one for her little croquette, and one for her pate.'
He added that his favourite feline won't scratch, because she gets weekly manicures, and explains why she never meows.
'The doctor does her manicure. She hates when we do it ourselves. The only time she makes a scandal is then. [But] everything is done with the eyes. She knows exactly what she wants.'
Although Chouppette is as good as gold for her owner, the little wild child has a mischievous side and loves playing up to her beloved maids, Francoise and Marjorie.
The designer revealed to i.D: 'She loves to destroy paper, that is what she loves to do the most and also driving her beloved maids crazy. With me she is sweet and calm.'
EVEN WITH A SUPERMODEL AS A MOTHER, THIS POOCH ISN'T QUITE AS GLAM
With model Lara Stone as an owner, you'd think that Bert would be a little more fashion-forward.
But with comedian David Walliams as a father, his humour probably makes up for it.
Meet Bert, not even a year old, youthful and exuberant Bert loves to live life to the fullest.
Whether donning a dickie bow for a shindig at Elton’s or
primping his paws for a chow down at Scott’s he always looks his pooch-perfect best.
He loves to gorge on cheese, sausages and his Mama's homemade cheese biscuits.
In his free time you will catch him hanging out of car windows, napping, enjoying tummy tickles, playing in the park with his chums or snuggling up with his guardians.
Looks and the laughter: With parents as eligible as Lara Stone and David Walliams, Bert really has got great genes
