Beach retreat: Tamara Mellon has snapped up a $7.95million mansion in Bridgehampton
Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon has purchased a $7.95million mansion in the upmarket Hamptons enclave of Bridgehampton, according to the New York Post.
The 6,500sq ft property has seven bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a wine cellar, a home cinema and a pool.
Given that Ms Mellon, 44, co-founded one of the world's most famous designer shoe labels and is worth a reported $240m, one would imagine that the master bedroom has a vast shoe closet too.
The new-build home, constructed by the Farrell Building Company, will provide ample playtime space for the fashion mogul's nine-year-old daughter, Araminta, who goes by the nickname Minty.
The outdoor swimming pool, manicured lawns and adjoining 13-acre reserve will be a major asset in the summer – not to mention the nearby beach – while the fireplaces in the great room and living room will make for cosy weekends come winter.
The ground floor boasts an eat-in kitchen and dining room, both with doors that lead out onto a sizeable porch.
Upstairs, the master bedroom, one of four on that level, occupies a corner position with terraces on both sides.
Lavish scale: The 6,500sq ft home has seven bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a home cinema and a pool
Playtime: The house will be a second home for the Jimmy Choo founder and her daughter Araminta, nine, who is sure to love the property's pool and proximity to the beach
Its adjoining en-suite bathroom is
almost as large as the bedroom itself, with a bath, shower, and double
doors that lead out onto a balcony.
The basement boasts two further
bedrooms 'for staff or weekend overflow', as well as further
recreational space that can be used as a wine cellar, sauna and home
Family style: The kitchen looks out over manicured lawns. The house is also adjacent to a 13-acre reserve
Spacious: The ground floor has a 'great room' and living room, both with fireplaces, as well as a dining room
Suite deal: The master bathroom is as big as the main bedroom, and has double doors leading onto the terrace
It is certainly a large amount of space for just two people, though the pair are not likely to have a shortage of friends keen to come and stay.
The Hamptons property will be a second home for Ms Mellon, the former wife of oil and banking heir Matthew Mellon.
She already owns a $20million penthouse apartment on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The lavish apartment, which she purchased in 2008, in the Carhart mansion, was once owned by Edgar Bronfman Jr.
Ms Mellon is currently single, but since her divorce she has had relationships with Kid Rock and actor Christian Slater.
