You can always rely on Piers Morgan to ask the question that goes straight for the jugular.
But when the CNN host seemingly attempted to send Sandra Bullock”s ex-husband Jesse James on a guilt trip, the tattoo enthusiast was well armed.
During James”s appearance on the Tonight show, Morgan recalled how he met Bullock at the 2010 Academy Awards when she won the Best Actress gong for her role in the Blind Side.

Piers then relayed to James how the 46-year-old star gushed to him about her then-husband, saying in a conversation they had: “I wake up every day, and I remind myself how lucky I am to have him.”
Morgan later reminds James of her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, where she dedicated her win to James, saying: “There”s no surprise that my work got better when I met you, because I never knewwhat it felt like for someone to have my back.”
Sincere James bluntly recalls how Bullock made the same speech thanking him at “four different awards show” and goes on to suggest her gushing remarks to him at the lectern were all for show
But despite Morgan laying it on thick, James is quick to counter, saying Bullock made that speech “at four different awards shows”.

Morgan then asks if James is accusing Bullock of being insincere, prompting him to ask Piers what Bullock does for a living.
“Movie stuff,” Morgan replies.
“Yes, what” asks James.
“An actor,” Morgan elaborates.
“Oh, OK, cool,” James says with emphasis.
Morgan pushes further, asking if he thinks her dedications to him in her acceptance speeches were all for show.
And James certainly does not disagree, replying in reference to the fickle Hollywood scene: “I think you know, that whole – that, you know, people that have to live in that world.”
Morgan asks James if he”s glad to be out of “that world,” to which James replies, “100 per cent.”
Earlier in the interview West Coast Choppers CEO Jesse, who is now set to marry Kat Von D, takes full responsibility for the split from Sandra.
“I should have did the honourable thing,” James say, who cheated on the actress with a string of women.
“I should have left her, you know If I wanted to screw around,I should have, you know, ended it.”
James is currently promoting his new book American Outlaw.
The interview airs in the U.S. on Piers Morgan Tonight on Friday.
