As the Duchess of Cambridge heralded the Olympics at a London gallery in her typical understated style, her in-laws were showing off their brilliant sense of fun by joining in with garden games at a youth festival in Guernsey.
As part of a Diamond Jubilee visit to the Channel Islands Princes Charles and Camilla were visiting Saumarez Park in St Peter's Port.
The Royal couple delighted locals at the event by joining in the group games with gusto.
Ready … : Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall take part in a Youth Showcase 'Parachute game' during a visit to Saumarez Park
Steady … :The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are in Guernsey as part of a Diamond Jubilee visit to the Channel Islands taking in Jersey, Guernsey and Sark
Go!: The parachute game was just one of the activities the couple took part in throughout the day
Duck: The parachute starts to descend, landing on Charles' head
Floating: Charles raises his arms as he attempts to lift the rainbow-coloured silk
Saved: The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are saved from being tangled up in a pile of parachute silk by theSaumarez Park visitors
Multi-coloured: The enthusiastic couple admire the metres of parachute before the game starts in Guernsey
The couple were clearly enjoying letting their hair down in the island sunshine.
Camilla, who was dressed in a powder blue pleated dress and matching
frock coat featuring two delicate butterfly brooches, was happy to let
husband Prince Charles take the lead as he made his way around the park.
And the day after he skilfully attempted an indoor
climbing wall in Jersey wearing a three-piece suit Prince Charles was the life and soul of the
'parachute game', diving under the silk parachute with wife Camilla as
locals held it aloft.
The Prince also tried his hand at
spinning plates, coming a cropper when his lack of balance meant the
crockery tumbled while Camilla chose the seemingly safer option of
meeting the local wildlife.
Wobble: Spinning plates proves a bit trickier to master and the plate takes a tumble to the delight of the crowd
Nice to meet you maaaaaam: The Duchess of Cambridge greets the local wildlife
Is that posy my lunch: The couple share a joke as the Duchess lifts her flowers to safety
