Shoppers paying a visit to H&M on London's Regent Street this morning were greeted by an unexpected and rather arresting sight.

Crowds gathered to pay homage to the effigy, posing for photographs as they marvelled at the vision of this metallic monument.

The two statues are the first to land in the UK after nine had been placed at various locations around the United States over the past few weeks.
They come as part of the launch of David Beckham's latest range of underwear for H&M, first revealed in a set of black and white photographs shot by LA-based photographer Alasdair McLellan.
'I am so excited about this new campaign for David Beckham Bodywear at H&M,' David said of his brand new pants.
'I wanted to express the strength and quality of the David Beckham Bodywear collection with these images, and also the wearability and fit.
